Who are We?

This blog is comprised of three freshman engineers attending Michigan State University, two civil engineers and one electrical engineer. The purpose of this page is to display our reasons for choosing MSU, Engineering, and the specific type of engineering. It will also include parts of our unique backgrounds and how they have prepared us for the future. Furthermore the focus of this blog as a whole will obviously be engineering and how functionality and visual appeal are both accomplished by engineers.
Hello, my name is Nash, I am a first year student at Michigan State. I'm majoring in civil engineering, simply put the goal of civil engineers is to keep things from moving like bridges or roads and commonly work for the government. I am a local kid who grew up on dreams of attending MSU, so when I received the acceptance letter, there was no thought required. As for my major, both of my parents work in the trades so I have always had a decent grasp on how things work such as hand tools, construction, and basic car maintenance, this coupled with my love for math and it only makes sense that I go into engineering. So why civil engineering? Well as a kid I remember taking an annual vacation to the upper peninsula and my favorite part of the trip was always passing over the the Mackinac bridge. So when I realized I had the opportunity to build similar structures, my mind was made up.
Hello, my name is Cameron, and I am also a first year student at Michigan State. My major is civil engineering, and the reason I want to become one is seeing my dad work as a civil engineer. Going to work with him and watching him design bridges and other miscellaneous objects made me want to be a civil engineer. I went through high school excelling in math and science, which just strengthened my love for civil engineering. Growing up just and hour and a half south of East Lansing, MSU was always on my radar. While I had dreams of attending "the school down south," my final choice was MSU. I love it here, not regretting my decision at all. I look forward to getting my degree and having a career in civil engineering.
Hello, my name is Xinxin, and I am a first year student at Michigan State. I am majoring in electrical engineering. I really interested in the electrical things, and I always want to figure out how does the electrical things work . Also, my parents are civil engineers, this is made me chose civil engineering as my major at first. However, they want me to learn those things as soon as possible, then they was start to teach me at home. Unfortunately, this is made me don't wanna study civil engineering anymore. In those reasons, I chose electrical engineering as my major.
