Excellence in Civil Engineering- Prompt 6

Prompt 6:

In the article "Excellence in Engineering" the anonymous writer talks about the importance of civil engineers in third world countries such as south Africa. This is clearly an argument on the side of civil engineering that I would categorize as strong. Part of the ethics of civil engineering includes using there knowledge to help communities in-need, and this gives credit to all the people that help to improve the infrastructure of south Africa. There are obviously easier places to work than south Africa but the selfless engineers trade a comfortable life for a great sense of accomplishment.
My reaction to this article is mostly pride. Pride in in being apart of the same community that contributes so much to this world. This will only strengthen my ambition to graduate with a civil engineering degree from Michigan State University. It also gives me ideas on what I could potentially be doing after I graduate which also excites me. I am also happy to see civil engineers getting the credit they deserve because sometimes they are overlooked as they mostly work behind the scenes. In conclusion I would say this article does a good job of putting civil engineers in the spotlight and making readers realize just how great they are.
